Homework, Week of November 17th

Friday, November 21st

4th Math:
By Tuesday of next week, complete ten problems of each within the following IXL skills: G.1, G2, G.3 and H.1.  Make sure you are writing down the problem, steps, answer and whether you got the problem right or wrong.

5th Math:
Start preparing for your chapter 3 test.  It is on Tuesday.
Chapter 3 review: In your math journal, make sure you complete and practice the following items:

P. 66
P. 68-69
P. 73
P. 75-76
P. 90 #5 and 7
Study Links 3-10


Also, be familiar with the following terms: polygon, quadrangle, identify parallel lines, congruent, regular polygon, right, obtuse, and acute.

6th Math:
By Tuesday of next week, complete 1) journal pages 60 and 2) ten problems of each within the following IXL skills: 0.7, O.1, P.1, and P.3.  Make sure you are writing down the problem, steps, answer and whether you got the problem right or wrong.

Complete SL 3-9

6th Math:
Complete journal pages 57-59


Tuesday, November 18th

4th Math:
Complete/practice the following problems in your math journal:
p. 53, p. 55 prob 2. p. 61 #2, p. 66 prob 1, p. 67 prob 5,
p. 69 probs 1-8, p. 71 parts 1 & 2, p. 72 #1 & 3,

p. 74 probs 1-12, p. 75 probs 1 & 2.
Your chapter 3 test is Wednesday.

5th Math:
Finish your tessellation.  You need to turn this in at the start of class Wednesday.

6th Math:
Complete the "Standards Assessment" for chapter 2.  This is worth up to 10 extra points.


Monday, November 17th

4th Math:
Complete SL 3-11.

5th Math:
Work on the shape of your tessellation.  You need it for your classwork Tuesday.

Continue working on your IXL.  The skills to focus on include: G1, G2, G3, G4, G5 and G6.  Between class on Friday and this weekend, the amount of work should total up to one hour.

5th Math:
Continue working on your IXL.  The skills to focus on include: B2, B4, B5, B6, B7, and B13.
Between class on Friday and this weekend, the amount of work should total up to one hour.

6th Math:
Your test on 2.1 through 2.6 will be Monday, November 17th.  Use the resources available to you!  Use IXL, your new textbook, the practice test (and answer key).

Complete SL 3-7.

6th Math:
Finish your Chapter 2 Review packet.  This is due Friday.

4th Math:
Think of a word problem that uses at least one operation.  Please don't make it as simple as "if I take one plus one what do I get?".  Challenge your classmates with the problem on Thursday!

5th Math:
Complete SL 3-5.

6th Math:
Finish your packet for 2.6: Dividing Decimals.  This is due Thursday.

Your quiz on 2.4 through 2.6 will be Monday, November 10th.

4th Math:
Complete SL 3-6 if you haven't already.  Also, complete SL 3-7

5th Math:
Complete SL 3-4.

6th Math:
IXL - Complete a total of 40 problems, solving at least ten from each of the following skills:
o.1, o.2, o.4 and o.7.
Write down 1) the problem, 2) steps required to solve the problem, 3) your answer and 4) whether it was correct or not.

Log on IXL and complete ten of the problems from each of the following skills: W-4 through W-7.

P. 33 (partial-sums), p. 35 (trade-first subtraction)
P. 43 - which is greater: 50%, 3/5, 4/9, 0.4

Convert 0.15 to ____%. Convert 6/8 to ____%.

P.31 #2 and #4, p.37-38, p.39 #4 (write in expanded notation). p.41, p.47-48, p.50-51, p.53 #2a and 3.

After your test Thursday, I am going to collect and grade your math journals.


6th Grade:

Today, you were given the a "Test B".  It has problems very similar to what you will see on your chapter test Tuesday.  Practice practice practice!  Work on reducing the amount of time required to answer each problem.  I would expect that everyone is using their worksheets, practice test and your quiz results to prepare for Tuesday's Chapter 1 test.
