Athens vs. Sparta

Imagine that you have a choice to go back to 600 B.C.

The key decision: would you choose Athens or Sparta?

Your assignment:

1) Create a Venn Diagram identifying all of the differences and similarites of the two city-states. Your textbook is your best starting point.

2) Research and document additional information about life in Athens or Sparta (around 600 B.C., not present day)

3) Outline the reasons why you would choose to live in Sparta or Athens as well as the reasons why you would not live in the other. Use items from the Venn as well as from your research. Focus: Convince the reader why they may want to live in your city-state as well!!

Final copy must be written neatly in pen or typed. Drawings encouraged!

Due date: Friday, January 15th.
